Electrical Design Engineer EIT/PE
We have an immediate need for full-time on-site role Electrical Design Engineer. Successful candidate will be responsible for electrical design, power systems, and power distribution. The Electrical Engineer is expected to work with other disciplines to ensure that project requirements are met, and to be responsible for the technical quality, accuracy, and completeness of the design work performed.

We have an immediate need for full-time on-site role Electrical Design Engineer. Successful candidate will be responsible for electrical design, power systems, and power distribution. The Electrical Engineer is expected to work with other disciplines to ensure that project requirements are met, and to be responsible for the technical quality, accuracy, and completeness of the design work performed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- EIT or P.E. in the state of Florida Required.
- 6+ years of Electrical Engineering and Electrical Design experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant software
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution and power systems
- Conducting site visits and collaborating with owners, architects, and contractors to evaluate the existing electrical building systems.
- Assisting in troubleshooting electrical issues and providing solutions to ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems.
- Designing electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and security systems, based on the building's specifications and requirements.
- Preparing electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Calculating electrical loads, voltage drop, and short-circuit analysis to ensure the electrical system's efficiency and reliability.
- Selecting and specifying electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and lighting fixtures, based on the project's requirements and budget.
- Providing oversight & direction to electrical staff.
- Coordinating with other engineering disciplines and the architect to integrate electrical systems with other building systems.
- Providing bid assistance to the client & approve substitution requests during the bid phase.
- Review and approve electrical submittals from contractors to ensure design specifications and code compliance.
- Providing technical support during construction, including responding to requests for information (RFIs) and conducting site inspections to ensure proper installation of electrical systems.
- Staying updated with the latest electrical codes, standards, and industry trends to ensure compliance and incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in the building design or construction industry is preferred.
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers and technicians.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Currently living in or willing and able to move to beautiful Sarasota, FL
