Embrace the opportunity to shape the future as a Permanent Electrical Engineer in our dynamic and forward-thinking company. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional eager to apply their knowledge of electrical systems and power distribution in a challenging and fast-paced environment. As part of our team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and components that meet our high standards of efficiency, quality, and safety. You will also have the chance to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to innovative projects that have a significant impact on our operations and success.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and test electrical equipment and systems, including circuit breakers, high and low voltage electrical systems, and power distribution systems.
2. Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
3. Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
4. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
5. Keep equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting repair service.
6. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
7. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher. Electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or building science from a fully accredited ABET program.
Professional registration: EIT and/or PE License.
4+ years of experience with commercial electrical design or light industrial.
Experience with low voltage systems 600V and lower, both AC and DC distributions. Includes 480/277V, 208/120V and 240/120V systems, single phase or three phase.
Understanding of basic electrical concepts. Ability to perform power calculations given current, amperage, kW, or power factor.
Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations including NFPA, NEC, Life Safety, IBC, and OSHA.
Technical understanding of Grounding.
Expansive product knowledge of manufacturers (Eaton, Schneider, ABB, Siemens, etc.).
Ability to size and specify distribution equipment: diesel generators, electrical switchgear & switchboards, panelboards, disconnect switches, conduit & conductors.
Assemble and compile Division26 specifications.
Take a project from initial stages to 90% completion.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit is a plus.
Skilled in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Teams; working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu
