Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
Design building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems
Assess existing site conditions and oversee field measurements
Collaborate with clients to define project objectives, requirements, and available resources
Conduct code analysis and ensure design compliance with applicable regulations
Define and manage the engineering scope, budget, and schedule for each project
Develop and coordinate Revit models using existing plans, documentation, and surveys
Prepare engineering contract documents and calculations using CAD tools and electrical design software
Select appropriate materials, equipment, and system components
Review and verify technical accuracy and coordination of project documentation
Develop project specifications and supporting documents
Perform material quantity take-offs and assist in preparing cost estimates
Stay current with electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices
Review construction submittals for compliance with design intent
Conduct periodic site visits during construction to monitor work and ensure adherence to construction documents

Qualifications:

5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering design within the architecture/engineering industry
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT certification required with active participation in a licensure development program
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design is required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Solid understanding of the International Building Code
Project management and/or team leadership experience is a plus
