Job Details
Electrical Engineer (Quantum Products)
Would you like to develop and design digital circuits for electronic controls used in commercial quantum components that help solve critical national security problems like protecting our national power grid from hackers?
About you:
Degree in Electrical Engineering
3+ years of work experience designing digital circuits used for commercial products
US Citizen or Permanent Resident (required by our Government clients)
Willing to work as a full-time W2 employee with benefits and potential equity/stock options
Willing to work at our office - maybe remote to start with
Prefer making a large impact in a small company over working for a large 1000+ person company
Solid English communication and writing skills
Willingness to continually learn new tools and skills
Ideally you also have:
Experience with STMicro family of microprocessors/controllers
Experience designing circuits using FPGAs
Experience with schematic capture in Altium
Experience writing firmware
Your typical workday:
Meet with key stake holders to determine project requirements
Brainstorm with team members and by yourself
Design digital circuits from DC to 500+MHz – capturing 1ns millivolt pulses and driving high speed lasers and controlling physical systems in the Quantum Optics world.
Work in Altium to create schematics
Guide layout process
Test fix and debug your boards (soldering skills needed)
Write basic bring up firmware as needed to validate board performance
Document future changes and existing board performance
Meet as needed with clients and vendors
