Job Details

The Staff Electrical Engineer will support the Plate Mill department by delivering electrical engineering services that help meet business goals, focusing on safety, production, maintenance, and engineering needs. This role plays a key part in maintaining and improving process efficiency, output, and quality. It involves ensuring that electrical systems are safely integrated into manufacturing operations and enhancing existing equipment.

Key duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Manage all stages of electrical engineering projects, including concept development, scope definition, creating specifications, soliciting bids, design, manufacturing, commissioning, and project completion
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Use PI Vision and Data Link tools to analyze production issues and offer solutions
  • Design electrical control systems that drive process improvements and enhance equipment reliability
  • Provide support to production and maintenance teams with process and equipment challenges
  • Redesign and upgrade PLC/HMI systems in current operations
  • Set up and diagnose camera systems on industrial machinery
  • Mentor team members to enhance their understanding of processes and equipment, when needed
  • Be available for occasional off-hours support, despite primarily working a day shift

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience working with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC motors and drives, and instrumentation
  • Skilled in Rockwell software such as RSLogix and FactoryView
  • Experience leading electrical projects
  • At least 7 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
  • Must meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements, meaning U.S. citizenship or equivalent status (e.g., permanent resident, asylee, or refugee)
