Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, test, and evaluate electrical systems, components, and applications by applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
2. Collaborate with electrical engineers to design and apply new system processes, and provide technical advice as needed.
3. Set up and operate standard or specialized testing equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
4. Assemble, install, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
5. Conduct inspections to ensure that installations and designs meet standards and specifications.
6. Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in circuitry and electronic assemblies, using hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
7. Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
8. Write reports and compile data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
9. Keep abreast of changes and updates in the field of electrical engineering and participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, maintain personal networks, and participate in professional organizations.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician or in a similar role.
2. Ability to analyze circuits from schematics.
3. Experience with lab equipment such as: oscilloscopes, multi-meters, hi-pot testers, temperature scanners, etc.
4. ASCE, ASEE, or equivalent degree.
