This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in electrical systems, construction blueprint analysis, and proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, or Accubid. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electrical codes and will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates that reflect the cost of electrical construction projects. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare, review, and update electrical estimates for construction projects.
2. Analyze construction blueprints and technical documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
3. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
4. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
5. Utilize specialized software (Bluebeam, HeavyBid, or Accubid) to maximize accuracy and efficiency.
6. Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
7. Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
8. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
9. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
10. Conduct risk analysis and provide strategies for risk mitigation.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator or similar role.
3. Proficiency in specialized software such as Bluebeam, HeavyBid, or Accubid.
4. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and compliance with Electrical Codes.
5. Proven ability to analyze construction blueprints and technical documents.
6. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
7. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
8. Excellent attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy.
9. Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
11. A team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
