We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Electrical Estimator to join our team in the Construction industry. This is position, offering the opportunity to contribute to a wide array of exciting projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating costs for electrical components of construction projects, preparing bids, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with federal contracting regulations. This role is critical to our operation, requiring a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate accurate and competitive electrical estimates for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and track cost changes.
  • Utilize construction management and estimating software to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and submit RFPs, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with industry standards.
  • Monitor and track project costs, providing regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in bid meetings, presenting estimates and answering queries from clients, architects, engineers, or contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal contracting regulations, including GSA and NSA schedules.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in federal acquisition processes and maintain registration with SAM.gov.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes, identifying opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project estimating, construction estimating, or a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical components and systems in construction projects.
  • Proficient in construction management and estimating software.
  • Excellent understanding of blueprints and technical documents.
  • Experience in bid preparation, supplier management, and cost tracking.
  • Familiarity with federal contracting compliance and federal contract bidding, including GSA and NSA schedules.
  • Registered with SAM.gov and knowledge of the federal acquisition process.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
