Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation & Bid Preparation
- Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Determine labor, material, and overhead costs to create comprehensive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project scope, identify risks, and ensure compliance with bid requirements.
- Site Evaluations & Client Interaction
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather critical data for precise estimating.
- Engage with clients, general contractors, and suppliers to discuss project requirements and specifications.
- Market Research & Vendor Relations
- Stay up to date on industry trends, material pricing, and labor costs to ensure competitive and profitable estimates.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain thorough records of all estimates, bids, and project adjustments.
- Provide detailed cost reports and analysis to support project planning and execution.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)(preferred)
- Proven experience as an electrical estimator with expertise in industrial and heavy commercial electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, NEC codes, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, RFQs, and technical specifications.
- Experience developing budgets, evaluating vendor proposals, and preparing bid documentation.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
