Get ready to join a dynamic team as a Permanent Electrical Estimator in the construction industry. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be instrumental in the planning, direction, and coordination of all estimating activities. This position will allow you to showcase your expertise in the National Electrical Code and your ability to provide accurate and competitive estimates. You will be an integral part of a team that prides itself on its commitment to quality and innovation.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
2. Interpret and analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
3. Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
4. Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
5. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
6. Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
7. Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients.
8. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
9. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other applicable standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating or related field.
2. Proficiency in electrical construction estimating software.
3. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
4. Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.
5. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
6. Strong math skills and demonstrated proficiency with software for job costing and scheduling.
7. Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and coordinate multiple tasks.
8. Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer and service team.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
10. A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
