Responsibilities:
Requirements:
- Prepare comprehensive electrical take-offs and detailed cost estimates based on project plans and specifications.
- Ensure all estimates are completed within assigned deadlines and in alignment with bid dates.
- Solicit and evaluate competitive vendor and supplier quotations in accordance with project requirements.
- Draft and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) related to estimating and clarify project details.
- Analyze competitor and general contractor involvement on bid opportunities.
- Review and interpret project specifications to ensure compliance and alignment with company standards.
- Participate in project kickoff and quick-start meetings to communicate estimating strategies to operations and project management teams.
- Manage multiple project estimates simultaneously and provide support to fellow estimators as needed to meet deadlines.
- Attend job walks, site visits, and pre-bid conferences as assigned by management.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all estimating data, pricing strategies, and project information.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and vendors.
- Represent the company at industry events, training seminars, and workshops as approved.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical estimator, preferably in commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, labor costs, and industry standards.
- Proficient in takeoff software and estimating tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent).
- Excellent understanding of project plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.
