Job Details

Established Massachusetts based contractor is seeking a full time Project Estimator. Substation and Distribution experience is preferred. Commercial Electrical experience as well.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and evaluate initial project plans and specifications
  • Prepare estimates and establish budgets for projects ranging from $1 million to $30 million
  • Review contracts to ensure that everything related to the estimate is included and accounted for
  • Manage and estimate complex project requirements
  • Additional duties as determined by Executives

Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years estimating experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and/or site and civil construction
  • Works with numbers accurately
  • Self motivated
  • Highly organized
  • Understands and can execute take-offs of construction documents
  • Full knowledge and understanding of contracts; general requirements, general conditions, plans, specs, addendums, etc.
  • Ability to write proposal and complete estimate without guidance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and stay focused, as well as with a team
  • Transportation, electrical, communications, or other contracting experience
  • Familiarity with principals of cost estimating (computer based)
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Primavera, Cost estimation programs
