Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on elevators to ensure optimal operation.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions involving hydraulics, wiring, and plumbing systems of the elevators.
• Install and program elevator controllers, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
• Modernize older elevators, upgrading components and systems to meet current standards.
• Interpret schematics and technical drawings to aid in troubleshooting and repairs.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform immediate repairs to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Document all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with other team members and share knowledge and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, Elevator Mechanic, or related role.
• Possession of a State of New York Certificate of Competency and Certified Elevator Technician (CET) certification.
• Valid Elevator Mechanic License.
• Demonstrated experience with elevator repairs and modernization.
• Proficient in working with hydraulic and wiring systems.
• Experience in installing and programming elevator controllers.
• Ability to interpret and apply information from schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
• Physical ability to perform the demands of the job, including lifting heavy items and working at heights.
• Availability to respond to emergency call-outs outside of normal working hours.
