Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on elevators to ensure optimal operation.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions involving hydraulics, wiring, and plumbing systems of the elevators.
- Install and program elevator controllers, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
- Modernize older elevators, upgrading components and systems to meet current standards.
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings to aid in troubleshooting and repairs.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform immediate repairs to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Document all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with other team members and share knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, Elevator Mechanic, or related role.
- Possession of a State of New York Certificate of Competency and Certified Elevator Technician (CET) certification.
- Valid Elevator Mechanic License.
- Demonstrated experience with elevator repairs and modernization.
- Proficient in working with hydraulic and wiring systems.
- Experience in installing and programming elevator controllers.
- Ability to interpret and apply information from schematics and technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
- Physical ability to perform the demands of the job, including lifting heavy items and working at heights.
- Availability to respond to emergency call-outs outside of normal working hours.
