Due to growth, we are looking to add an Embedded Software Engineer to our team. This hire will collaborate closely with a team of senior engineers to design and develop both software and hardware for products such as single board computers, environmental monitoring and control systems, and LED message sign controllers. This role involves end-to-end responsibility - from initial product and system design through firmware and control software development, product release, and ongoing post-release support.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and test embedded software for our state-of-the-art manufacturing systems.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
3. Develop software for bare-metal environments, focusing on efficiency and reliability.
4. Implement and optimize networking protocols for embedded systems.
5. Debug and resolve software defects and issues, ensuring our systems operate at peak performance.
6. Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize system performance and reliability.
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in embedded software development, applying this knowledge to your work.
8. Document software designs and code, maintaining a high level of quality and clarity in your work.
9. Support the integration and testing of software components into complete systems.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded software development.
3. Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python and other relevant languages.
4. Understanding of embedded systems, including experience with ARM Cortex microcontrollers and SOC architectures.
5. Solid experience with Linux
6. Experience developing software for bare-metal environments.
7. Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols.
8. Experience collaborating with hardware engineers, with a strong understanding of hardware-software integration.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex software issues.
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
