We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Permanent Employee Benefits Attorney to join our thriving legal team. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise in the areas of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Internal Revenue Code, retirement plans, health plans, welfare plans, executive compensation, and compliance with ERISA. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and reviewing plan documents, summary plans, and ensuring compliance with IRS and DOL regulations. This role requires the ability to practice law in Indiana.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal advice and guidance on ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, retirement plans, health plans, welfare plans, and executive compensation matters.
2. Draft, review, and revise plan documents and summary plan descriptions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
3. Assist in managing and resolving plan audits conducted by IRS and DOL.
4. Advise on the legal implications of changes in laws and regulations affecting employee benefits and executive compensation.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to develop, implement, and maintain compliant benefits and compensation programs.
6. Provide training and updates to internal teams on changes in laws and regulations affecting employee benefits and executive compensation.
7. Collaborate with external counsel as needed to address complex legal issues.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the Indiana State Bar and ability to practice law in Indiana.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Employee Benefits Attorney.
4. Extensive knowledge of ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, retirement plans, health plans, welfare plans, and executive compensation.
5. Proven experience in drafting and reviewing plan documents and summary plan descriptions.
6. Strong knowledge of IRS and DOL regulations and compliance requirements.
7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
8. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to a diverse audience.
9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
10. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
