The Employee Benefits Risk Advisor is responsible for providing strategic guidance to clients on the design, implementation, and management of employee benefits programs. This role involves assessing organizational risks related to benefits offerings and recommending tailored solutions to align with business goals, employee needs, and compliance requirements. The advisor acts as a trusted consultant, building long-term relationships with clients while ensuring optimal plan performance and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze clients’ employee benefits needs, current plan performance, and business objectives to identify areas of risk and opportunity.

Develop and present customized benefits strategies that include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary, and wellness programs.

Evaluate insurance carriers and benefit plan options to provide clients with cost-effective, competitive solutions.

Serve as a liaison between clients, carriers, and third-party vendors to resolve issues and ensure smooth plan administration.

Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc.), and emerging risks affecting employee benefits.

Provide compliance support and ensure clients adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.

Conduct renewal and open enrollment meetings, employee education sessions, and plan utilization reviews.

Use data analytics and benchmarking tools to support recommendations and monitor program performance.

Collaborate with internal account management and client service teams to ensure exceptional service delivery.

Proactively identify cross-selling opportunities for other lines of coverage or value-added services.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Risk Management, or related field (preferred).

Active Life & Health insurance license (required).

3–5+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting, brokerage, or carrier environment.

Strong knowledge of group benefits plans, underwriting, funding strategies (fully insured, self-funded, level-funded), and compliance.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to build rapport and maintain strong client relationships.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and benefits technology platforms (HRIS, Ben-Admin, CRM systems).
