Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Permanent Wage-Hour Employment Litigation Associate to join our diverse and inclusive team. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of our firm, providing exceptional legal services to our clients, primarily in the area of wage-hour and employment litigation. This position offers an opportunity to work on high-profile cases, engage in complex litigation, and contribute to a team that is passionate about achieving justice for workers. The candidate must have a strong background in class action law, civil litigation, wage-hour disputes, PAGA cases, and class action lawsuits.
Responsibilities:
1. Representing clients in all stages of wage-hour and employment litigation, including pre-litigation investigation and negotiations, drafting of pleadings, discovery, and trial.
2. Conducting thorough and detailed investigations into potential wage-hour violations and PAGA cases.
3. Developing and implementing litigation strategies, in collaboration with our team, to effectively represent our clients and achieve successful outcomes.
4. Drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and negotiating settlements.
5. Engaging in proactive client communication to provide updates, advice, and legal counsel.
6. Participating in the development and presentation of educational programs and materials for clients and potential clients about wage-hour laws and related topics.
7. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in wage-hour laws, court decisions, and other legal and regulatory changes that affect our clients.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the California state bar and in good standing.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in wage-hour and employment litigation, including substantial experience with class action law, civil litigation, wage-hour disputes, PAGA cases, and class action lawsuits.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the complexities of wage-hour laws.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively present complex legal arguments and strategies to clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
6. Proven track record of successfully managing multiple cases and projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
7. Demonstrated commitment to public interest law, workers’ rights, and social justice.
8. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and collaborative work environment.
