Job Details

Our next Energy Management Analyst (All Levels of Experience Needed) will assist with analyzing and forecasting building performance and balancing energy consumption from utility down to the branch circuit level. Our Energy Management Analysts will work to find creative ways to keep operational costs to a minimum and work outside of the box with team members to improve efficiency. Our Energy Management Analysts will work with Construction, App-Dev, Networking, Orders, Sales, Accounting, and Data Center Operations teams as needed.

Responsibilities | Duties
  • Verify the accuracy of engineering drawings, Building Management System (BMS) | Electrical Power Management System (EPMS), and Living Data Center LDC logic and reporting
  • Develop/implement new ideas and solutions to ensure operational efficiency to include - operating procedures, training documents, and BMS/EPMS analytics web pages and reporting.
  • Quality assurance of Energy Management Analyst responsibilities
  • Assist with Customer | Capacity Management email response, coordination, and follow-through for all maintenance activities
  • Assist with creating, planning, and implementation of load-balancing activities
  • Assist with providing comprehensive reports including trend analysis
  • Provide innovative ideas and solutions to support the advancement of our company
  • Analyze and forecast power, cooling, and water capacities for all Switch sites
  • Travel and provide support to external sites as needed
  • Assist customers when assigned
  • Participate in policy and procedure development and maintenance
  • Compliance with policies and procedures
  • Upkeep of work order documentation and utilization reports

Required | Experience | Skills | Education
  • 4+ years of experience troubleshooting electrical and/or communications equipment or working within the Analyst field and/or equivalent education.
  • Must be flexible and work odd | extended hours per the customers’ schedule request.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Express ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively with our contractors performing maintenance or upgrade work on systems installed in the data center environment.
  • Analyze and make suggestions for problem resolution.
  • Solve problems with good initiative and sound judgment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems in use in a data center environment including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, DC power systems, ATS/STS units, PDU units, air handling units, cooling towers, and fire suppression systems.
  • Strong background in mechanical, electrical, or computer science theory.
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols (Modbus, SNMP, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of the safety requirements required while operating a multi-megawatt facility.
  • Experience interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • A college degree in Engineering is preferred, yet equivalent education or training may be considered.
  • Any relevant job field certifications are a plus
