Job Details
We’re looking for an experienced Energy Systems Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of talented engineers focused on delivering high-performance building automation and energy management solutions across diverse vertical markets. In this role, you’ll drive project engineering excellence while supporting professional development, team coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical oversight with strategic personnel management.

- Oversee or develop engineering submittal packages based on project drawings, specifications, and design intent
- Provide technical support to project teams and assist with complex control system designs
- Serve as a subject matter expert for DDC controls, mechanical systems, and HVAC sequences of operation
- Independently lead engineering efforts for high-difficulty or large-scale projects
- Supervise and mentor a team of control systems engineers
- Conduct peer reviews, provide technical guidance, and foster skill development
- Lead performance reviews, goal-setting, and career development plans
- Manage workload assignments, resource planning, and training initiatives
- Collaborate with engineering leadership on hiring, forecasting, and departmental improvements
- Promote a supportive, engaging, and fun team environment through events and team-building
- Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of engineering deliverables
- Drive continuous improvement and help resolve project or client issues professionally
- Maintain customer trust and satisfaction through technical expertise and responsive communication
- Monitor team utilization, labor projections, and performance KPIs
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and process enhancements
- Collaborate with project managers to align engineering schedules and deliverables
- Support the sales team during bidding phases by providing technical insight as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
- Deep knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and standard engineering design tools
- Understanding of control system architecture and building automation sequences
- Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams
- Excellent organizational, communication, and mentoring skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities independently
