Job Details

We’re looking for an experienced Energy Systems Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of talented engineers focused on delivering high-performance building automation and energy management solutions across diverse vertical markets. In this role, you’ll drive project engineering excellence while supporting professional development, team coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical oversight with strategic personnel management.

Responsibilities:
Engineering & Project Execution
  • Oversee or develop engineering submittal packages based on project drawings, specifications, and design intent
  • Provide technical support to project teams and assist with complex control system designs
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for DDC controls, mechanical systems, and HVAC sequences of operation
  • Independently lead engineering efforts for high-difficulty or large-scale projects
Team Leadership & People Management
  • Supervise and mentor a team of control systems engineers
  • Conduct peer reviews, provide technical guidance, and foster skill development
  • Lead performance reviews, goal-setting, and career development plans
  • Manage workload assignments, resource planning, and training initiatives
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership on hiring, forecasting, and departmental improvements
  • Promote a supportive, engaging, and fun team environment through events and team-building
Customer Success & Delivery
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of engineering deliverables
  • Drive continuous improvement and help resolve project or client issues professionally
  • Maintain customer trust and satisfaction through technical expertise and responsive communication
Operational Oversight & Business Support
  • Monitor team utilization, labor projections, and performance KPIs
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and process enhancements
  • Collaborate with project managers to align engineering schedules and deliverables
  • Support the sales team during bidding phases by providing technical insight as needed

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
  • Deep knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and standard engineering design tools
  • Understanding of control system architecture and building automation sequences
  • Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities independently
