Possess NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level I or
Pass NICET I exam within 60 days of employment
The fire alarm engineer is responsible for all activities necessary to ensure that the fire alarm system complies with all external regulatory requirements and is always ready to serve its primary role of protecting people and property. Understanding the system at a deep level is necessary to select and guide continuous improvement activities and investments while avoiding interruptions to the business functions we support.
Provide leadership of the engineering aspects of the fire alarm and ancillary systems.
Ensure quality in all aspects of design, operation, and maintenance.
Interpret the results of maintenance and testing activities to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and that repairs address the root cause of the failure.
Drive system modifications due to building/occupancy changes to maintain compliance.
Provide fire alarm guidance and design review for new projects.
Serve as the liaison between vendors and suppliers to assist with project delivery.
Manage the capital program and investments related to the fire alarm system.
Maintain the fire alarm Master Specifications and installation standards.
Maintain fire alarm System drawings per code and requirements
