We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. This role requires a deep understanding of risk management, environmental compliance, and safety management systems. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in insurance, fire safety, and policy development. This is a permanent position requiring a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety procedures and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
3. Oversee the company's safety management systems, ensuring they are effective and up-to-date.
4. Develop and implement training programs for employees to increase awareness and knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
5. Lead incident investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
6. Manage the company's insurance programs, ensuring adequate coverage and compliance with all requirements.
7. Oversee fire safety procedures, including regular fire drills, equipment maintenance, and employee training.
8. Develop and implement policies that promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
9. Ensure the company is in compliance with all environmental regulations, including waste management, air quality, and water conservation.
10. Continuously monitor and review safety performance, making recommendations for improvements and implementing changes as necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety management within the manufacturing industry.
3. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
4. Proficient in risk assessment and risk management strategies.
5. In-depth knowledge of safety management systems and their implementation.
6. Solid understanding of insurance requirements and processes.
7. Experience in fire safety management and policy development.
8. Strong understanding of local, state, and federal environmental compliance regulations.
9. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
10. Ability to train and motivate employees to adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
