Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Litigation Associate with over four years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental law and be admitted to practice in Massachusetts. This role involves representing clients in complex environmental litigation and appeals, providing strategic legal counsel, and contributing to our firm's ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in environmental litigation and administrative proceedings.
Conduct legal research on environmental laws and regulations.
Provide legal advice to clients on compliance with environmental regulations.
Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, permits, and regulatory filings.
Advocate for clients during negotiations with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.
Prepare and file lawsuits and legal briefs on behalf of clients.
Participate in public hearings and community meetings on environmental issues.
Collaborate with environmental scientists and other experts.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to environmental law.
Develop strategies to prevent environmental damage and ensure sustainable practices.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar.
A minimum of four years of experience in environmental litigation.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
Proven track record of successful environmental litigation.
Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and audits.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Experience with environmental policy development and implementation.
