We are searching for a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal to our construction operations and requires a professional who is competent in handling, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment. If you are a hands-on individual with an exceptional mechanical aptitude and a passion for problem-solving, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities
As an Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
1. Performing regular diagnostic tests on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
2. Diagnosing faults and malfunctions on various types of heavy equipment using computerized and other testing tools to determine the extent of repair required.
3. Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining construction equipment and machinery, including diesel engines.
4. Conducting routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
5. Adjusting equipment and resetting system controls, repairing or replacing broken or malfunctioning components.
6. Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
7. Adhering to all safety protocols and workplace policies.
8. Documenting processes and keeping detailed records of work performed.
9. Providing consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Equipment Mechanic or in a similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in operating and maintaining heavy equipment.
3. Exceptional mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of diesel engine repair.
4. Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
5. Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
6. Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and drawings.
7. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
8. A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
9. Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a definite plus.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
