Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive estate planning services to our high-net-worth clients, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
2. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on a variety of complex estate planning matters.
3. Represent clients in probate and trust administration proceedings.
4. Handle guardianship administration matters, including filing petitions for guardianship and representing clients in guardianship proceedings.
5. Advocate for clients in estate litigation and probate litigation matters.
6. Provide tax advice to clients, including advice on estate and gift tax planning, and represent clients before the IRS and other tax authorities.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in estate planning, tax, and probate law and inform clients of any changes that may affect their estate plans.
8. Collaborate with our team of attorneys to develop and implement effective legal strategies for our clients.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the Florida Bar.
3. 5+ years of experience as an Estate Planning Attorney, Trust Attorney, Probate Attorney, or Guardianship Attorney.
4. Extensive experience in estate and trust administration and probate litigation.
5. Experience working with high-net-worth clients is preferred.
6. An advanced degree in taxation (LLM in Taxation or Tax LL.M.) is highly desirable.
7. Strong legal research and writing skills.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
9. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving legal issues.
11. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
