We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney.
You will be tasked with building and growing this new practice area with the support of the firm and its resources behind you. No need to stress about bringing in new clients all on your own.
The successful candidate should have experience drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and/or healthcare directives. Additional experience with probate law is ideal, and a portable book would be beneficial but not required.
This is a permanent position ideal for a seasoned professional who is passionate about helping clients navigate complex legal matters and safeguard their assets for future generations.

Responsibilities:
- Counsel clients on all aspects of estate planning, including the drafting, review, and execution of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Manage all phases of the probate and estate administration process, including the preparation and filing of all necessary court documents.
- Provide legal advice on complex estate planning strategies, tax implications, and asset protection.
- Collaborate with clients' financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to estate planning.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations related to estate planning and administration, and ensure all client matters are handled in compliance with applicable laws.
- Represent clients in probate court proceedings, as necessary.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent customer service and communication.
- Participate in business development activities to grow the firm's estate planning practice.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the North Carolina state bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in estate planning and administration, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, etc.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to estate planning and administration.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while also working in a collaborative and structured environment.
