Estate Planning Partner | Great opportunity to join a Larger Firm | No book Required
A bit about us:
We're an Am Law 200 firm with over 300 attorneys and a national footprint — large enough to handle sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional matters, small enough that attorneys aren't lost in a machine. Our estate planning practice serves clients with substantial family wealth, closely held business interests, and complex multi-generational planning needs. We're growing, and we take the work seriously.
Why join us?
- Complex, high-caliber work — taxable estates starting at $30M, with the planning problems that come with them (dynasty trusts, GRATs, QPRTs, family LPs, charitable structures, international overlays)
- A firm that's growing with intention — not just acquiring bodies, but building a practice with institutional support and a real client base
- Collaborative practice group — attorneys who actually talk to each other and share expertise across tax, business, and estate planning
- Competitive compensation structured to reward the quality and complexity of what you do
Job Details
We're looking for an estate planning attorney to join our Philadelphia office and handle sophisticated wealth transfer and tax planning for high net worth individuals and families. You must have:
Nice to have: LLM in Taxation, ACTEC membership or candidacy, experience with international estate planning or cross-border issues, business succession planning experience for family-owned enterprises.
You must have:
- JD from an accredited law school; active Pennsylvania bar admission (or eligibility to waive in)
- 7+ years of experience in estate planning and trust law
- Demonstrated experience with taxable estates — clients with $30M+ in assets or equivalent complexity
- Working knowledge of federal estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax
- Experience drafting irrevocable trusts, spousal lifetime access trusts, dynasty trusts, GRATs, or similar instruments
- Strong client communication skills — you'll be talking to sophisticated, high-expectation clients directly
