We are seeking a seasoned Estimating Manager to join our thriving construction company. This role is vital to the success of our future projects, and the individual will be responsible for overseeing all estimating operations within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in various aspects of construction, including site work, underground utilities, public and private work.

We are seeking a seasoned Estimating Manager to join our thriving construction company. This role is vital to the success of our future projects, and the individual will be responsible for overseeing all estimating operations within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in various aspects of construction, including site work, underground utilities, public and private work.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimating team in the development of accurate and timely construction estimates.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects or services.
- Oversee the preparation of thorough, accurate, and competitive estimates, including analyzing and evaluating bidding risks and strategies.
- Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks.
- Understand project logistics and project schedule to ensure project success.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide clear and detailed project estimates.
- Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure comprehensive project estimates.
- Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
- Identify and quantify potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in estimating.
- Proven experience in site work, underground utilities, highway, public works, and private work.
- Proficient in HCSS Heavy Bid or equivalent estimating software.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Professional Estimator Certification is a plus.
