Job Details
Are you passionate about the construction industry and have a knack for numbers? Do you have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Estimator for Commercial Construction. This role is integral to our team, as you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for our commercial construction projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects and play a key role in our company's growth and success.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Estimator, you will:
1. Collaborate with contractors, architects, and clients to gather all necessary information to prepare accurate and competitive bids.
2. Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine the overall estimated cost of a project.
3. Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, and apply your knowledge of design to inform these estimates.
4. Manage the bid submission process, ensuring all bids are submitted on time and are comprehensive, accurate, and competitive.
5. Participate in bid and proposal presentations, explaining cost estimates to clients and stakeholders.
6. Maintain a comprehensive database of market rates for labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring our estimates are up-to-date and competitive.
7. Use your exceptional time management skills to handle multiple estimates simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:
1. Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
2. Possess strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
3. Have experience working with contractors, submitting bids, and managing the bid submission process.
4. Have exceptional time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
5. Have strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain cost estimates to clients and stakeholders.
6. Have experience with design and collaboration in the construction process.
7. Be familiar with the process of submittals in commercial construction projects.
8. Have experience with Design Build projects.
