We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Estimator to join our commercial construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of projects, analyzing project risks, and preparing bids. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of commercial construction processes, project bidding, and excellent analytical skills. This position is integral to our team, and we are looking for a candidate who can effectively collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.
2. Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
3. Conduct risk analysis for projects, considering factors such as site conditions, project size, and project duration.
4. Prepare and submit accurate bids for projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for.
5. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to gather all necessary information for estimates.
6. Regularly review and update cost estimating methods and databases to ensure accuracy.
7. Participate in proposal presentations and client meetings.
8. Track and analyze project costs, and report on project progress and potential changes.
9. Conduct post-project cost analysis to improve future estimating capabilities.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, with a focus on project bidding.
3. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
4. Proficiency in estimating software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with strong attention to detail.
6. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address potential project risks.
10. Professional certification in estimating or construction management is a plus.
