Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Review and analyze project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive, detailed cost estimates for wastewater construction projects.
2. Utilize expert knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labor costs to ensure accurate project estimates.
3. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and provide accurate cost projections.
4. Prepare and submit formal bid proposals, including detailed breakdowns of anticipated costs.
5. Conduct risk analysis to identify potential challenges and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.
6. Participate in preconstruction meetings to discuss project details, requirements, and cost estimates.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and the competitive landscape to ensure the most accurate and competitive estimates.
8. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for obtaining quotes and ensuring their inclusion in project estimates.
9. Review project progress and update cost estimates as necessary, ensuring any changes in scope or unexpected issues are accounted for in the project budget.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically within the wastewater sector.
3. Proficient in estimating software and technology, as well as standard office software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
4. In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methods, with a specific focus on wastewater projects.
5. Experience with bid preparation and preconstruction planning.
6. Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex plans and specifications.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
8. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
9. Detail-oriented and highly accurate, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality work.
10. Professional certification in estimating or related field is preferred.
