Job Details
- Prepare pricing estimates, including developing a takeoff of all material and labor required for the project
- This takeoff will be combined with outside vendor pricing to produce a complete project cost estimate
- Work with outside vendors to request and receive project specific pricing to meet firm deadlines
- Coordinate with operations and outside vendors on how the job is to be built in both our shop and in the field
- Coordinate with the customer to help ensure we are providing a complete package with a thorough understanding of the project schedule and project specific requirements
- Work will be performed in an indoor office environment.
- Position requires long durations committed to independent reading and computation.
- Strong concentration skills necessary.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
- Basic understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practices including knowledge of structural shapes and general industry terminology
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents including design drawings and specification documents.
- Ability to read shop drawings a plus
- Microsoft software applications including MS Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Emphasis on the ability to manipulate Excel spreadsheets.
- Experience with PDF review / editing software (Bluebeam, Acrobat)
- Experience with Tekla EPM (Fabsuite) and/or Fabtrol
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents
- Strong math and geometry skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting stringent deadlines
- Must be detail oriented and have the ability to focus on given tasks
- Minimum bachelors level degree in Construction Workeragement, Structural / Civil Engineering or
- Business is preferred
