We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Estimator to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of our construction projects, providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring optimal resource allocation. Responsibilities:
As a Heavy Civil Construction Estimator, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for our construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other relevant costs.
2. Participating in the bidding process, preparing bid packages and ensuring that all bids are submitted on time and in accordance with our company's standards.
3. Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop comprehensive project plans.
4. Conducting cost analyses and identifying opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
5. Performing material take-offs (MTO) and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes.
6. Assisting in the preparation and management of project budgets, monitoring project costs, and providing regular cost reports.
7. Applying your knowledge of construction methods and materials to provide technical advice and support to the project team.
8. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and continuously improving your knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a proven track record of preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
2. Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials, and the ability to perform detailed material take-offs (MTO).
3. Proficiency in project estimation, cost management, project bidding, budgeting, cost analysis, and value engineering.
4. Excellent numerical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make accurate calculations.
5. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members, suppliers, and subcontractors.
6. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
7. Proficiency in using construction estimating software and other relevant IT tools.
8. A keen eye for detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
9. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
