Are you an experienced construction professional with an eye for detail, a knack for numbers, and a passion for bringing projects to life? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Estimator to join our growing team in the Construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills and experience in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will play a vital part in our project planning and execution process. Your primary responsibility will be to provide detailed and accurate cost estimates for our construction projects.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
1. Preparing detailed cost estimates by analyzing the project's plans and specifications.
2. Conducting thorough material take-offs (MTO) to determine the quantities and types of materials required for each project.
3. Utilizing Edge software to optimize and streamline the estimating process.
4. Working closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to understand the scope and requirements of each project.
5. Developing and maintaining a database of cost information to be used in future project estimates.
6. Providing budgeting support and financial analysis for various projects.
7. Assisting in the negotiation of contracts and bids.
8. Monitoring and tracking project costs and providing regular cost reports to management.
9. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in construction estimating and budgeting techniques.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need a combination of education, experience, and skills. The ideal candidate will have:
1. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a proven track record of preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates.
3. Proficiency in using Edge software or similar estimating software.
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Exceptional mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex plans and specifications.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
8. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
9. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
