Job Details
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Executive Director of Contracts to lead our Contracts team and report to the General Counsel. This role is responsible for overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, including negotiation, drafting, review, execution, and closeout, ensuring compliance with legal and business requirements. With at least 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sectors, the ideal candidate will manage complex contracts in highly regulated environments, drive process improvements, and support business growth through effective risk management and collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the contract lifecycle from negotiation to closeout, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
Collaborate with senior leadership to mitigate risks, support business growth, and ensure compliance with legal standards.
Manage and mentor the Contracts team to ensure timely and accurate contract execution.
Draft and negotiate various agreements, including distribution, licensing, vendor, and service contracts.
Work cross-functionally with departments to protect company interests and drive strategic initiatives.
Continuously improve contract processes, templates, and workflows.
Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Juris Doctorate or equivalent advanced degree, with 8+ years of experience in contract management and negotiation, particularly in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries.
At least 3 years in a leadership role, with a proven ability to manage and motivate teams.
Expertise in negotiating and drafting complex agreements, including distribution, GPO, and vendor contracts.
Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Skills and Attributes
