Job Details:

Our firm is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Asbestos Trial Attorney to join our defense team. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work on high-stakes, complex asbestos-related cases. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload from start to finish, working on all aspects of the litigation process. The position demands a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to exceptional client service. This is a permanent position that requires at least a decade of experience in litigation, defense, and trial work.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage a diverse caseload of asbestos-related cases, maintaining regular contact with clients and ensuring their needs are met.
2. Conduct thorough, complex legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
3. Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and briefs.
4. Represent clients in pre-trials, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and hearings.
5. Collaborate with a team of skilled paralegals, associates, and partners to effectively manage cases.
6. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients when appropriate.
7. Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and industry trends related to asbestos and other toxic torts.
8. Provide legal advice to clients, explaining complex legal concepts in an understandable manner.
9. Participate in business development activities, including networking events and client meetings.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
2. Active member in good standing with the State Bar.
3. Minimum of 8+ years of experience as a trial attorney, with a strong focus on asbestos or other toxic tort litigation.
4. Proven track record of successfully representing clients in court, including experience with jury trials.
5. Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
6. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to manage a large caseload, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
8. Highly motivated, with a strong work ethic and commitment to client service.
9. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
10. Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
