Job Details

Our client is seeking a highly motivated, experienced legal assistant to provide support for attorneys in their Family Law practice area.

Job responsibilities would include:
  • Transcribing, composing, formatting, editing, proofreading, and finalizing all forms of documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
  • New client intake and preparing conflicts checks.
  • Preparing and filing of pleadings such as Appearances, Answers, and Motions.
  • Coordinating, maintaining, and calendaring upcoming trial dates, arbitrations, depositions, and all corresponding status notes.
  • Maintain attorney calendars.
  • Sending out and organizing discovery documents.

The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:
  • At least 5 years’ experience assisting attorneys in family law.
  • Strong attention to detail in all work.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and to prioritize workloads to effectively meet all deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff and clients.
  • Forward thinking, organized, and a team player.
  • Ability to independently solve problems and exercise sound judgment with minimal direction.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products – Outlook and Word.
  • Experience with iManage & Prolaw a plus.
