Family Law Paralegal

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing family law cases from beginning to end, providing exceptional support to our attorneys, and ensuring our clients receive superior service. This position requires a proactive professional with a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for family law.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys specializing in family law, including divorce, child custody, and spousal support cases.
2. Prepare and draft various legal documents such as motions, pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests, and responses.
3. Conduct legal research and factual investigation to assist attorneys in case preparation.
4. Manage and organize case files to ensure information is easily accessible.
5. Coordinate and manage court filing processes, ensuring all documents are submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
6. Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other parties involved in the case.
7. Assist in trial preparation, including the preparation of trial notebooks and exhibits.
8. Maintain a current knowledge of changes in family law and court procedures.
9. Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling and confirming court dates, appointments, and deadlines.
10. Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned by attorneys.

Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in family law.
2. Paralegal certification or equivalent required.
3. Proficient in drafting motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
4. Extensive knowledge of court filing procedures, specifically in Virginia.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and tasks simultaneously.
7. Proficient in legal research and factual investigation.
8. Familiarity with legal case management software and other related technologies.
9. Exceptional client service skills, with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
10. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
11. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and act decisively.
