JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Drafting or reviewing legal documents such as divorce decrees, child custody agreements, prenuptial agreements, and wills
Interviewing clients to gather information about their case and discussing their goals
Explaining legal terminology and procedures to clients who may be unfamiliar with the law
Conducting legal research to find precedents that support a lawyer’s arguments in court
Drafting legal documents such as affidavits, motions, subpoenas, settlement agreements, pleadings, discovery requests, and wills
Accurately calendar deadlines and reminders
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of progressive legal work experience in family law
Knowledge of local, state and federal court rules, procedures and deadlines
Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
Maintain pleasant, positive communication with clients
Willingness to adjust to the needs of the firm
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Must have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Paralegal experience is a plus but not mandatory
