We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Fiber Construction Technician to join our team. This role will involve working on a variety of projects related to the construction, installation, and maintenance of fiber optic networks. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology and a team of highly skilled professionals. This position involves both office and field work, offering a unique blend of technical and hands-on tasks.
Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Fiber Construction Technician, your primary duties will include:
1. Overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables, both above ground and underground.
2. Conducting site surveys to determine the best routes for cable installation.
3. Collaborating with engineers and other technicians to design and develop fiber optic networks.
4. Ensuring all work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
5. Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to fiber optic networks.
6. Providing technical guidance and expertise to clients and team members.
7. Preparing and presenting reports on project progress and other relevant matters.
8. Assisting with project management tasks, such as planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
9. Staying updated with the latest developments in fiber optic technology.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you will need the following:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in telecom construction, specifically with underground cable.
2. Proven experience in fiber optic network construction and maintenance.
3. Strong understanding of fiber optic technology and its applications.
4. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
5. Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
9. Proficiency in using various tools and equipment used in fiber optic cable installation and maintenance.
10. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different work sites.
