Overview: A leading provider of building automation and HVAC control solutions is seeking a Field Operations Supervisor to oversee day-to-day field activities for electrical and controls installation teams across West Michigan. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise in HVAC controls, electrical systems, and field team management.
The Field Operations Supervisor will ensure high-quality installations, coordinate field teams and subcontractors, and serve as the main liaison between project management and field operations. The Field Operations Supervisor will ensure high-quality installations, coordinate field teams and subcontractors, and serve as the main liaison between project management and field operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support electrical and controls installation crews across West Michigan
- Coordinate manpower and scheduling with project management teams
- Maintain workload balance between internal teams and subcontractors
- Provide feedback to apprenticeship programs to improve hands-on training
- Participate in performance reviews for field leads, journeymen, and apprentices
- Support hiring decisions by offering input on electrical team needs
- Collaborate with project managers on subcontractor estimates and approvals
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost field efficiency
- Review controls drawings to ensure installation meets project scope
- Assist in planning pre-install layouts and mentor teams in project pre-planning
- Support technicians with onsite troubleshooting and technical questions
- Use field software and company tools to document progress and manage tasks
- Maintain accurate records using the company’s CRM platform

Qualifications:
- 5–7+ years of experience in electrical work and building automation
- At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong understanding of DDC (Direct Digital Controls), BAS (Building Automation Systems), and system integration
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience using CRM systems and field technology platforms
