We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and passionate Field Service Technician to join our team in the Energy industry. This permanent position is perfect for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You will be working on a variety of projects, including power plants, data centers, and commercial buildings, where you will apply your skills in electrical engineering, power distribution, and critical power. This role is perfect for those who have a background in the military, navy, marine, army, or air force, and are seeking to transition their skills into a civilian role.
Responsibilities:
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
1. Providing technical support for uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems, power distribution units (PDU), static transfer switches (STS), and panelboards.
2. Conducting routine inspections and maintenance of power systems in commercial buildings, manufacturing plants, and other infrastructure.
3. Operating and maintaining 3 phase power systems in various settings, including nuclear power plants.
4. Troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
5. Collaborating with engineers and other professionals on project planning, implementation, and evaluation.
6. Adhering to all safety procedures and protocols, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, power distribution, or a related field.
2. Proven experience working with UPS, PDU, STS, and panelboards.
3. Strong knowledge of 3 phase power systems, including their operation and maintenance.
4. Experience in the energy industry, particularly in power plants, data centers, or commercial buildings.
5. Familiarity with military, navy, marine, army, or air force operations and standards is highly desirable.
6. A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse team of professionals.
9. A commitment to safety, with the ability to adhere to strict safety procedures and protocols.
10. Ability to travel as needed for field service work.
