Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Financial Controller, your duties will include, but not limited to:
1. Overseeing all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Directing financial planning and strategy.
3. Analyzing and monitoring the financial performance of the company and reporting findings and recommendations to the top management.
4. Coordinating with external auditors and managing internal controls.
5. Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
6. Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.
7. Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
8. Evaluating and managing risk, performing profitability analyses, and ensuring cost-efficiency.
9. Leading and coordinating the budgeting and forecasting processes, including the creation of financial models for decision support.
10. Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably within the Renewable Energy sector.
3. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Experience in strategic planning and execution, including the effective communication and implementation of the strategy.
6. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, as well as federal and state financial regulations.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate direct reports.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Ability to work with a diverse team and build effective relationships.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
