Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department including the maintenance of an organization structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate timely and accurate monthly financial reporting and analysis including but not limited to P&L, balance sheet and cash flow. Create, update and maintain scorecard, metrics, operation highlights and others.
  • Understand, update and analyze the standard cost system within IQMS.
  • Create, update and maintain, manage, and periodically review internal financial policies and controls.
  • Collaborate with outside accounting firm on corporate income taxes, audits, etc. by compiling data, reviewing information and general assistance in support of the timely, accurate completion.
  • Lead the planning, preparation and periodic review of corporate budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage and maintain pricing and pricing deviations including escalator/de-escalator quarterly calculations, IQMS updates and list price maintenance.
  • Manage cycle counting including process, procedures, review, and audit.
  • Facilitate and review monthly inventory adjustment, scrap report and analysis, stocking program, obsolescence reporting and analysis, purchase price variance (PPV) analysis; coordinate annual physical inventory, reconciliation and valuation.
  • Track and control authorizations for Capital Initiative Requests including payback analysis, break even analysis and sales modeling.
  • Fixed asset records management.
  • Manage working capital including collections, payments, inventory, and cash management.
  • Support the strategic long and short term planning processes of the organization.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and related bank reporting information.
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer on company-wide matters.
  • In tandem with Human Resources, participate in a quarterly review of the company’s 401(k) savings plan. Prepare the annual 5500 return.
  • Participate in the review and financial analysis of the company’s health and welfare benefit plans including group medical, dental, life, disability, Section 125 Flexible Spending. Review and collaborate with HR regarding workers compensation.
Review rebate allowances.

Requirements:
A 4-year degree in accounting and/or finance is required. An Economics or Business Administration major is acceptable with equivalent Controller experience.
5-8 years related experience, preferably in a similar industry.
CPA preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budget, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Knowledge of automated finance and accounting reporting systems.
Knowledge of federal, state and local financial regulations.
Ability to analyze financial data, synthesize large amounts of information and prepare financial reports, statements and projections in executive-ready format.
Advanced experience with statistical software and spreadsheets (i.e. Access, Excel).
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
Highly developed detail and organization skills; outstanding follow-up and time management skills.
High technical proficiency including some experience or familiarity with IQMS or other ERP systems; advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
A high level of trustworthiness and the ability to achieve integrity on all levels.
Professional image and the ability to appropriately represent the company both externally and internally.
