As a Permanent Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician, you will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of various establishments by maintaining and servicing fire alarm systems. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills, knowledge, and expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment. Your role will be crucial in preventing fire-related incidents and ensuring the smooth operation of fire alarm systems. This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of systems and to continually learn and grow within the Engineering industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems to ensure they are in perfect working condition.
2. Troubleshoot and repair faults in fire alarm systems promptly and efficiently.
3. Respond to emergency service calls and provide technical support to clients as needed.
4. Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed service reports.
5. Stay up-to-date with the latest fire safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
6. Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and other staff members.
7. Collaborate with the engineering team to improve fire alarm system designs and processes.
8. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
9. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal safety regulations.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician or in a similar role.
2. National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certification in Fire Alarm Systems is a must.
3. Proficiency in testing and inspecting fire alarm systems.
4. Strong technical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and repair various fire alarm systems.
5. Excellent understanding of fire safety standards and regulations.
6. Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in understandable terms.
7. Ability to work independently and in a team, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to job responsibilities.
8. High level of physical fitness, as the role may involve heavy lifting and climbing ladders.
9. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
10. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
11. High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
12. Flexibility to work outside normal working hours, including weekends and evenings, if required.
