Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our team. This individual will play a vital role in the financial management and strategic planning of our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost accounting, ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards, and supporting the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with SEC regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations.
3. Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
4. Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
5. Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
6. Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
7. Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results.
8. Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost.
9. Analyze manufacturing operations, equipment availability, and utilization.
10. Perform ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support the operations.
11. Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
12. Forecasts and plans future purchasing costs according to fiscal needs.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 8+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
3. Experience with public company reporting and compliance.
4. Proficiency in ERP systems.
5. In-depth knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance requirements.
6. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.
7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
8. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
9. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
10. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
11. Experience in preparing detailed financial reports.
12. Strong time management and organizational skills.
13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
14. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
