We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Processing Director of Operations to join our thriving Manufacturing division. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to spearhead and optimize our food processing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our manufacturing processes, from implementation and training to production scheduling and quality control. Responsibilities:
1. Plan, manage, and oversee all elements of production in our food processing facility.
2. Ensure that all SOPs, safety, and quality control measures are strictly adhered to.
3. Implement and manage comprehensive training programs for all staff members to ensure a high level of competency and efficiency.
4. Oversee the production scheduling to guarantee production efficiency and meet supply demands.
5. Utilize SAGE software for optimal management of production metrics and other relevant data.
6. Work closely with the plant management team to drive continuous improvement strategies.
7. Ensure all equipment is maintained and functioning efficiently, scheduling regular inspections and maintenance as necessary.
8. Manage and optimize the use of raw ingredients in the production process, ensuring minimal waste and cost-effectiveness.
9. Monitor and control inventory to ensure smooth production flow and prevent overstock or shortage.
10. Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment in accordance with company and industry standards.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing, Food Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role in the food processing or manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience in production scheduling, quality control, safety regulations, and plant management.
4. Proficiency in using SAGE or similar ERP software for managing production metrics.
5. Strong understanding of SOPs, equipment maintenance, and ingredient utilization in a food processing environment.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven record of training and developing staff.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
9. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.
10. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
