Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to fill the role of a Food Quality Manager in our fast-paced manufacturing industry. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to play a pivotal part in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our food products and production overall.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of quality and food safety systems, ensuring compliance with USDA, FDA, GFSI, FSMA, and BRC Audit requirements.
  • Lead and manage all internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure quality standards are integrated into all operational processes.
  • Continually assess and improve our quality systems, using continuous improvement methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and control the microbiological status of the products, investigating any non-conformities and implementing corrective actions.
  • Act as a key contact for all quality and food safety related issues, liaising with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Develop and manage KPIs for quality and food safety, reporting on performance to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality management role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of USDA, FDA, GFSI, FSMA, and BRC Audit requirements.
  • Proven experience in leading audits and implementing quality and food safety systems.
  • Excellent understanding of microbiology as it applies to food production.
  • Strong skills in continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve quality and food safety issues.
  • Must be willing to travel <20% domestically to facilities.
