We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to join our team in the Engineering industry. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving growth, managing managers, and overseeing production in the custom manufacturing sector. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our manufacturing processes, making sure everything runs smoothly and optimizing productivity. The General Manager will be accountable for meeting and exceeding manufacturing and production goals, and ensuring the highest level of quality in our custom manufactured products.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead, manage, and hold accountable a team of managers to ensure the effective operation of the manufacturing department.
2. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency throughout the company’s operations.
3. Oversee the production of custom manufactured products, ensuring adherence to quality standards and meeting customer specifications.
4. Drive growth and profitability of the company through effective P&L management.
5. Set and meet production goals, including cost control and reduction, and process improvement.
6. Foster a well-trained and motivated staff through effective management of production staff.
7. Ensure all company functions and operations are carried out ethically, legally, and in line with company policies.
8. Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, and shipping.
9. Drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety, product quality, product delivery, and product cost through the use of Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role within the engineering industry.
3. Proven experience in managing managers, custom manufacturing, engineered products, P&L responsibility, production staff, and accountability.
4. Demonstrated ability to drive growth, meet production goals, and achieve manufacturing goals.
5. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
6. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies.
7. Excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
8. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
9. Exceptional ability to devise and implement strategic plans to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
10. In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and legislations.
