As a General Superintendent, you will be at the epicenter of exciting and challenging projects that shape the infrastructure of our community. We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and experienced professional who is ready to take their career to new heights by overseeing the construction of civil roadway projects. This position provides an exceptional opportunity to be a part of a growing team, working on high-profile projects that require a keen eye for detail, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong understanding of civil construction.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle, managing project construction to ensure completion within the designated timeframe and budget constraints.
2. Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction teams, including contractors, engineers, and laborers, ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance with project specifications.
3. Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide technical advice and to resolve any emerging issues or concerns.
5. Review and interpret plans, blueprints, and construction methods to ensure project accuracy and integrity.
6. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
7. Lead and foster a positive, productive work environment, promoting teamwork and communication among staff.
8. Manage and mitigate any risks that could impact the project timeline or budget.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil construction, with a specific focus on roadway and highway projects.
2. Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
3. Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and regulations.
4. Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of professionals.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with a knack for identifying and mitigating potential risks.
7. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and plans.
8. Proficient in the use of construction management software and technology.
9. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
10. Certification as a Construction Supervisor or Project Management Professional is a plus.
