Job Details

Position Overview: The Grants Billing Manager, reporting to the CFO, oversees all grant activities for the organization. This includes grant billing and reporting in accordance with funder deadlines and requirements.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Manager preparation and submission for grant invoices to a variety of funders
  • Management of funder timeline and reporting requirements and ensuring all supporting documentation is provided
  • Lead grants billing team including their development, management, and leadership
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and other external regulations
  • Maintain intimate knowledge of grant and contract guidelines to ensure invoicing and reporting within the accounting system are accurate
  • Assist with month-end close by tracking receivables, estimates, reporting variances, and alerting team to potential flags
  • Resolve disallowed expenses and other billing issues to prevent delays
  • GL expense reconciliations
  • Regular grant budget review / modification
  • Regular cost allocation process review
  • Track grant budgets vs. grant requirements to ensure funder compliance
  • Participate in internal controls and internal audit
  • Assist with other finance & accounting projects as required

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years accounting
  • 4+ years accounting supervision
  • Government grant billing experience
  • Uniform guidance audit experience
  • US GAAP knowledge
  • Cost allocation methodology
  • MS Excel (PivotTables, Advanced Formulas, Data Validations)
